Wharf Hotels is Hong Kong’s heritage hotel management company, an Asian corporation recognising diverse cultures that celebrates The Spirit of Discovery. With a view to replicate the success of the remarkable Harbour City in Hong Kong and Chengdu IFS, Chongqing IFS (opened in September 2017) and Changsha IFS will capitalise on the Company's management expertise and experience in operating some of the most productive retail-cum-office developments.
The outlets mall sector also presents great opportunities in China. Currently the Company is running two outlet malls in China namely Times Outlets Chengdu and Times Outlets Changsha with the former being one of the most productive outlet malls in the Mainland.
Wharf Hotels runs a fast expanding hotel network in Asia, spearheaded by a prominent collection of "contemporary, urban, chic" Niccolo hotels which redefine luxury experiences, styles and tastes for global travellers. Currently, the Group manages 15 hotels in China, Hong Kong and the Philippines under the legacy brand of Marco Polo Hotels and the new luxury brand, Niccolo Hotels. Thomas Salg is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience spanning eight countries and three continents. Having joined Wharf Hotels as General Manager for Marco Polo Shenzhen in 2013, Thomas successfully achieved significant growth in financial performance, guest satisfaction and associate engagement year-on-year over this three-year tenure.
In 2016, he was promoted to General Manager of three Marco Polo Hotels – the Hongkong Hotel, Gateway and Prince before taking over Operations for Wharf Hotels in December 2017. Thomas is a graduate of Bergius Schule in Germany and a certified trainer in Culinary Arts.
Ms Chan is a seasoned finance executive with extensive experience in multinational environments, engaging in various acquisitions, treasury and business re-organization projects, and overseeing diverse corporate functions. Ms Chan started her career as an auditor in one of the Big 8 audit firms. Her last held position was the CFO and SVP of Finance of one of the leading multi-national garment manufacturers in which she had served for 20 years. International hotelier, Sandy Russell, holds over two-decades of industry knowledge. Prior to joining Wharf Hotels, Sandy held the position of Vice President Commercial Operations Asia Pacific at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, based in Singapore, driving commercial strategies across the region for 116 hotels under 6 brands. Project WeCan is a business-in-community programme that Wharf Hotels collaborates with in Hong Kong, designed to offer care and opportunities for less-privileged students in Hong Kong. Project WeCan was established as an open platform for business sponsors to work closely with schools through financial commitment and/or volunteering support for the benefit of their students who lack support and resources. The Programme began in 2011 with eleven secondary schools. Currently, there are fifty-one schools matched with thirty-one corporate partners through Project WeCan.

We offer in-depth technical consultancy services from the design concept stage to the grand opening, innovative entertainment and dining solutions, superior brand standards along with a detailed critical path in the lead up to the opening.
A dedicated team assigned to your hotel will guide and support, assisting to develop the initial concept and launch campaign, in addition to providing ongoing assistance and advice for day-to-day operations. This will ensure maximum efficiency within the physical development and enhance the capability of the property to yield a superior return on investment. During the design development and pre-opening phases of a hotel, Wharf Hotels provides in-depth technical consultancy services to the hotel owner. Early involvement ensures maximum efficiency within the physical building and enhances the property's ability to maximise revenues and yield a superior return on investment.
Wharf Hotels oversees the efficiency of the architecture and interior design; the mechanical and electrical systems; equipment procurement; compliance with fire and safety regulations; and monitors the design of water treatment, electrical, waste disposal, and other utility systems.
Wharf Hotels will review consultant proposals and design specifications from a construction cost and hotel operations point of view, making recommendations to ensure a hotel product of the highest quality.
A successful launch is important to a hotel's long-term success. Wharf Hotels’ experts guide the pre-opening team in the recruitment and training of hotel Associates and provide operating manuals, policies and procedures, and financial accounting systems necessary to establish an outstanding hotel operation.

Wharf Hotels’ marketing strategy segments the sources of business into Corporate, Leisure, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions). Room reservations are made directly with the hotel through the industry recognised Global Distribution System (GDS), Wharf Hotels’ Centralised Reservations System, and the internet. Marketing effectiveness is achieved by using specific tactics to target each segment of the hotel's market mix.
