Area Director Housekeeping

Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel

Responsibility

  • Oversee and direct all aspects of housekeeping operations for 3 Marco Polo Hotels in Hong Kong - Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Gateway Hotel, and Prince Hotel.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping colleagues are selected and well-trained to meet productivity and hotel service standards.
  • Establish cost control systems and manage budgeting, ordering, and inventory for linen and cleaning supplies.
  • Develop inspection systems to ensure quality and efficiency in housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Plan work schedules based on productivity standards and occupancy forecasts.
  • Compile and report on housekeeping activities, room availabilities and expenses.
  • Develop and monitor the department’s annual budget.
  • Coordinate maintenance repairs with the technical department to uphold hotel service quality standards.
  • Participate in the hotel management team and serve as manager-on-duty as needed that collaborating to implement service standards for profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related disciplines with housekeeping management certification.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in housekeeping operation in a medium to large size hotel, including 4 years in a management capacity (multi-properties experience is preferable).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in enhancing productivity and effectively managing time and stress.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel housekeeping policies and operations.
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese.
