Assistant Cost Controller

Responsibility
The Assistant Cost Controller supports the accounting of Food and Beverage costs and other expenses, helping ensure that proper internal controls are in place, as these costs directly relate to the hotel’s profitability goals.- Assists in monitoring and controlling Food & Beverage costs, including expense posting, compliance with taxation, and preparation of cost reports.
- Supports cost audits, inventory counts, and store inspections to ensure proper procedures, minimize wastage, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborates with Purchasing and the Executive Chef to ensure quality procurement, accurate recipe costing, and adherence to budgeted meal costs.
- Helps ensure compliance with internal controls, HACCP standards, and established receiving and operational procedures.
- Prepares reports, conducts market surveys, and assists in month-end processes, including variance analysis and reconciliation of cost-related accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent is an advantage
- At least 2–3 years of experience in cost control within a luxury or upscale hotel environment
- Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, costing, and inventory systems
- Proficiency in hotel accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-standard environment with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and service excellence
