About The Role
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This position will ensure that all HR operations are in alignment with the hotel's strategic goals and legalrequirements in China. The Human Resources Director will play a key role in shaping the colleagues experience, fostering a positive work environment and learning culture by following the standard under Wharf Hotels Management Limited.
KeyResponsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment processes to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
- Colleague Relations: Manage and resolve complex colleague relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Performance Management: Implement performance management processes that drive high performance.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop programs to ensure colleagues skill enhancement and career development.
- Compensation and Benefits: Design and oversee compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
- Compliance: Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- HR Metrics: Use HR metrics to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
- Cultural Development: Develop and nurture a positive working environment that aligns with the hotel's values and culture.
Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree would be an advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry. Experience working in China or in an international hotel environment is highly desirable.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

- Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of and respect for cultural differences, particularly in a Chinese context.
- HR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor law, and employment equity regulations in China.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
