Responsibility

  • In line with the brand positioning and spirit of Marco Polo, we uphold the guest-first principle and proactively and promptly attend to guests’ needs.
  • Exert positive influence, take accountability, resolve issues proactively, and communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Be flexible and quick-witted at work, and decisively adjust work arrangements in response to specific situations.
  • Offer suggestions on departmental operational procedures and the improvement of environmental facilities.
  • Stay vigilant at all times and act responsibly to ensure all facilities and equipment function properly, delivering a comfortable and secure experience for guests and a safe working environment for staff.
  • Welcome, greet and bid farewell to all guests with enthusiastic, friendly and sincere smiles.
  • Assist front desk staff when there are no guests in the swimming pool area.
  • Guide guests on how to use fitness centre equipment and provide relevant explanations.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of complimentary mineral water and towels for guests.
  • Keep audio-visual equipment intact and fully operational.
  • Inspect and guarantee sufficient stock of supplies such as towels and drinking water.
  • Remain alert and responsible for the personal safety of guests within the swimming pool area at all times.
  • Safeguard all guests while they are using fitness equipment.
  • Arrange swimming pool equipment neatly; keep the pool area clean by disposing rubbish into bins; adopt proper and safe operational techniques to ensure all activities and work are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Test water pressure and chlorine levels, and report the results to the Assistant Fitness Centre Manager in a timely manner.
  • Proactively introduce membership packages for the spa and fitness centre to guests.
  • Identify malfunctioning equipment and follow up on relevant repair work.
  • Management reserves the right to revise or supplement this job description when necessary.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties and assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Possess personal trainer qualification certificate and lifeguard certificate.
  • Candidates with one to two years of relevant working experience are preferred.
  • Improve guest satisfaction with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to stand, walk and move around continuously as required by job duties.
  • Proficient in operating fitness equipment and swimming skills; capable of working under pressure when facing heavy workloads and responding to emergencies.
  • Skilled in guest relations management, able to resolve various issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Capable of performing competently under high-pressure working environments.
