CUCINA AND THE WHOO PRESENT “LUMINOUS GLOW” AFTERNOON TEA
Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel
Drawing on the philosophy of “Art of Balance” and the storied legacy of THE WHOO’s Cheongidan line, Cucina’s Chef de Cuisine, Andrea Delzanno, has artfully incorporated nourishing oriental ingredients – including gardenia, ginseng, red dates, goji berries and sesame – into the tea-time menu. Served on an elegant gold-and-white stand, selected delicacies are accented with lustrous hues that echo the radiant sophistication of the skincare line.
“Partnering with THE WHOO gave us the opportunity to bring together beauty, wellness and gastronomy in a unique afternoon tea experience,” says Chef de Cuisine Andrea Delzanno. “By incorporating ingredients inspired by the Cheongidan Collection into our Italian creations, we hope to offer guests a memorable journey of flavours and craftsmanship.”
The afternoon tea features 11 savoury and sweet creations infused with oriental ingredients. Highlights from the savoury selection include the duck liver terrine paired with ginseng jelly and smoked salmon with gold leaf and caviar, offering velvety textures with delicate herbal notes, alongside tart with crab meat, green apple, and goji berry and a chicken salad in a sesame basket. Guests can also savour the bruschetta with burrata cheese and truffle, a rich and creamy Italian classic enhanced by earthy aromas.
On the sweet side, the goji berry mousse takes centre stage, playfully presented in a tin inspired by THE WHOO’s Cheongidan Advanced Rejuvenating Pro-Radiance Cream, inviting guests to spread the buttery mousse over other treats for enhanced flavour. Other delights include the fragrant and smooth gardenia and ginseng panna cotta, the light and floral chrysanthemum macaron, and the sweet and comforting red date cupcake. Not to be missed is the sea salt caramel with gold praline, which balances rich cocoa notes with a subtle hint of salt. A sesame Italian gelato rounds off the experience with a smooth and aromatic finish.
Guests may elevate the afternoon tea with two bespoke mocktails: The Goji-Date Infusion, which blends red dates and goji berry syrup with English breakfast tea, and the Root & Petal Fizz, combining gardenia and ginseng syrup with citrus notes and sparkling soda. Alternatively, guests may pair the tea set with a selection of premium coffees or fine teas.
As an exclusive gift, each guest ordering the Luminous Glow afternoon tea will receive a complimentary THE WHOO Cheongidan 5A Discovery Set (valued at HK$130), along with a reward voucher for a facial massage and shopping offer.
