Guided by its core “Business-in-Community” ethos, the hotel group organised an afternoon of festive activities designed to create joyful memories. Children and their families participated in a Christmas cookie decoration workshop led by the hotel’s expert pastry chefs, followed by a lavish Christmas lunch buffet. Each guest departed with a gift set featuring homemade cupcakes and presents generously donated by Toys“R”Us.
The celebration was jointly hosted by Mr. Gerhard Aicher, Area General Manager of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, and Ms. Magdalena Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of the CCF. This year’s event commemorates ten consecutive years of partnership between the organisations, underscoring a sustained commitment to supporting the local community.
“As an organisation rooted in Hong Kong for more than half a century, giving back to society is a fundamental belief,” said Mr. Aicher. “We deeply value our enduring partnership with the CCF and are grateful for the generous support from Toys“R”Us. While illness presents profound challenges, we believe moments of shared joy and togetherness can provide genuine comfort. My heartfelt thanks go to all the volunteers and our dedicated team for making this meaningful event possible.”
Marco Polo Hotels’ corporate social responsibility efforts in Hong Kong are strategically focused on youth advancement, environmental sustainability, and community welfare. This event exemplifies its ongoing commitment to these pillars.
The CCF is a leading Hong Kong social service agency. For more than 30 years, its mission has been to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by supporting their physical, psychological, and social well-being, and to improve survival rates through research, diagnostic, and treatment support.
