Originally from Malaysia, Mr. Cheng brings more than 17 years of experience as an Executive Chef in internationally renowned hotel brands. Prior to joining Marco Polo Xiamen, he served in leadership roles at several prestigious properties, including Conrad Tianjin, Hilton Zhengzhou, and Sofitel Harbin.
Mr. Cheng is widely recognized for his strong capabilities in staff supervision, team leadership, and time management. Beyond cultivating his own culinary artistry, he is adept at building highly effective and collaborative culinary teams through clear communication and motivational leadership. His extensive hands-on experience has equipped him with comprehensive professional competencies across multiple core disciplines. With a keen understanding of market trends, he excels in menu research, development, and conceptual design—consistently delivering innovative and memorable dining experiences.
Fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hainanese, Mr. Cheng combines rich practical experience with a solid theoretical foundation. He remains passionately dedicated to the continual exploration and refinement of international cuisine, which he views as a dynamic and evolving art form.
