Assistant Director of Sales

Responsibility

  • Under the guidance and management principles of the Director of Sales & Marketing, monitor the daily sales performance of the sales team, and implement sales activities defined in the sales management system, training system and marketing plan to achieve budgeted revenue.
  • Develop and execute measurable annual sales activity plans and prepare activity‑related expense budgets to meet budgeted revenue targets.
  • Personally manage key clients and actively supervise key‑account administration.
  • Schedule regular client review meetings with sales staff at least once every quarter.
  • Organise regular sales meetings.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in developing and implementing sales plans for different market segments.
  • Keep abreast of current and future competitors’ products, pricing structures and sales initiatives, and deploy resources effectively to maximise revenue.
  • Attend regular revenue‑strategy meetings, provide proactive recommendations and implement action plans relevant to the sales department.
  • Assist in establishing contracted pricing structures, including corporate rates, retail rates, long‑stay rates, group rates and other rates, to secure maximum revenue yield.
  • Define job responsibilities and performance standards for all sales staff in accordance with the guidelines of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Conduct interviews, recruit and motivate all sales employees, and carry out regular performance evaluations under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Recommend high‑potential employees to the Director of Sales & Marketing for career‑development planning and preparation, including departmental transfers or promotions.
  • Establish and ensure strict compliance with the established client‑management system by sales personnel so as to maximise productivity.
  • Guarantee data‑entry standards, completeness and consistency across all major systems.
  • Implement approved incentive programmes to motivate the sales team to meet or exceed the hotel’s revenue goals.
  • Set sales targets for individual sales employees and adjust sales‑territory allocation dynamically according to each sales manager’s strengths and potential.
  • Develop schedules for sales trips and monitor travel‑related expenses to optimise sales opportunities.
  • Define objectives for sales trips, evaluate outcomes and ensure completion of follow‑up plans.
  • Actively participate in regular revenue‑strategy meetings and share market intelligence and competitor‑related information.
