Cebu City, Philippines – On July 9, 2025, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu welcomed Cebu’s storytellers—its creatives, curators, and community voices—for An Elevated Day of Taste and Discovery, a thoughtfully curated, progressive food and beverage experience across three of the hotel’s signature venues. More than a showcase of cuisine, the event celebrated local collaboration, highlighting how partnerships with proudly homegrown brands can elevate both taste and storytelling.
The journey began at the Lobby Lounge in collaboration with Peak & Pi, a Cebu-based specialty coffee and tea shop located at Fuente Osmeña Circle. Known for its meticulous approach to handcrafted beverages, Peak & Pi brought its signature artistry to the event through a special omakase-style tasting. Guests were treated to curated pairings such as Pour Over Coffee with Marco Polo’s Classic Ensaimada, Dirty Earl Grey with Cebu Mango and Cheesecake Egg Rolls, and Iced Matcha Latte paired with Malicious Cookies—a locally beloved dessert. Also featured were exclusive items from the hotel’s Ensaimada Deluxe Collection, including Kataifi Chocolate and Brie, Pear & Walnut variants, as well as its award-winning Mango Cheesecake. The second stop brought guests poolside to El Viento Restaurant and Pool Bar, where the hotel introduced its newest Brick Oven Pizza creations in collaboration with Bisaya Brew, a local craft brewery based in Mandaue City. The pairing experience featured bold, Cebuano-inspired flavors designed to celebrate the best of local cuisine and beverage craftsmanship. Highlights included the Sisig Pizza served with a German Lager, and Gamberoni Pizza complemented by a refreshing Wheat Beer—each brew selected from Bisaya Brew’s growing portfolio of proudly Filipino craft beers. The open-air venue, matched with panoramic city views, made for an ideal setting to spotlight this authentic Cebuano partnership.
To conclude the culinary journey, guests were invited to Café Marco, where the hotel’s Gourmet à la Française buffet was in full swing. Running until July 31, this special offering features a selection of timeless French dishes such as Blanquette de Boeuf, Pork Cassoulet, Quiche Lorraine, Fish Almondine, and Spaghetti à la Provençal, along with a decadent dessert line-up that includes Orange Crème Brûlée, Peach Tarte Tatin, Chocolate Pistachio Mousse, and French Macarons.
