Mr. Johnny Kiu, who was born and raised in Hong Kong, has been a passionate hospitality advocate and leader throughout his career with a talent for connecting with people, guests and industry peers from different backgrounds. After completing secondary school, he started as a catering intern at The Regent Hong Kong and over the years, steadily rose through the ranks, He has taken on different managerial positions with various international hotel chains, including Marriott, Shangri-La, Hyatt and InterContinental. His travels and geographical locations has included Cairns, Queensland, Australia; Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia; Changzhou, Jiangsu; Zhongshan, Guangdong; Chengdu, Sichuan; Xi’an, Shanxi; Changsha Hunan; Chongqing, Shanghai as well as a previous position in Wuhan, Hubei in China. He holds a degree in hospitality management from Griffith University in the Gold Coast, Australia and before joining Marco Polo Wuhan, he served as General Manager of InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland.
He is a committed hotelier who is vibrant, self-driven, and service-oriented mindset, and he has a wealth of hospitality expertise ranging from city center business hotels to resort destinations, which makes him an obvious choice for the new role. Johnny consistently demonstrates good business sense and is capable of enhancing performance in both pre-opening and hotels with a storied market presence that need his experience. His commercial orientation and flexibility extends to work that does not adhere to predetermined formulas. He will surely make a substantial contribution to Marco Polo Wuhan, strengthening the reputation and performance of the hotel and further elevate guest experience for both accommodation as well as dining successfully post renovation of the hotel.
Besides spending time with his family, Mr. Kiu likes Swimming, Skiing, Scuba Diving, Horse Riding and Snooker.
