A TASTE OF SOUTHEAST ASIA ABOVE THE CLOUDS: NICCOLO SUZHOU LAUNCHES THE NEW THEMED AFTERNOON TEA

Niccolo Suzhou

Dining, 29 June 2026
Suzhou, China, 26 June 2026 – This summer, guests do not need to travel all the way to Southeast Asia to enjoy authentic tropical flavours. Perched on the 115th floor of Niccolo Suzhou, the hotel introduces a limited-edition Southeast Asian afternoon tea set, available from 1 July to 30 September 2026. Made with iconic Southeast Asian ingredients including lemongrass, pandan, coconut milk and tamarind, the set brings a wide range of regional flavours to one tray, letting guests embark on a culinary journey over Suzhou’s skyline without boarding a flight.

Crafted exclusively by Niccolo Suzhou’s Pastry Team, this new afternoon tea draws inspiration from a Southeast Asian flavour map. It pairs savoury and sweet bites, each representing the unique local tastes and cultural stories of different Southeast Asian regions. The afternoon tea set features six themed desserts, five tailor-made savoury bites, a selection of premium teas and coffees, plus the chef’s special pork satay with chicory, Singapore chilli beef puff, taco cake with sambal sauce, sriracha seafood rice ball and pandan scone.

The savoury menu highlights distinct regional dishes. The foie gras puff pairs rich pan-seared foie gras with tangy tamarind to cut through its heaviness, leaving a bright, lingering finish. The red curry shrimp toast is made with plump, tender prawns seasoned with curry spice, with a crispy crust and juicy interior. The green papaya salad offers crisp texture and a vibrant sweet-and-sour taste from lime and chilli sauce, perfect for hot summer weather. The pork satay, marinated in lemongrass, is served with slightly bitter endive to balance the meat’s richness.

Desserts centre on coconut and tropical fruits with gentle sweetness tailored to local diners. The pandan lychee and white peach cake uses soft pandan sponge filled with fresh lychee and white peach for delicate natural fruit notes. The kuih lapis pandan layers of pandan juice and coconut milk, with a chewy texture and rich coconut aroma. The mango coconut rice mousse combines mango filling and a glutinous rice base for a soft, sweet tropical treat. Tasting savoury and sweet items alternately reveals the full spectrum of layered Southeast Asian flavours.

The afternoon tea is served daily from 2 to 5PM. The set is priced at RMB 588 for two persons, or RMB 688 for two with premium Caviar and two cups of specialty drinks.
