Niccolo Lectures: Perceiving Emotions Through Art

Niccolo Suzhou

Events, 27 May 2025
Suzhou, China, 26 May 2025 – Recently, Niccolo Suzhou successfully held its first Niccolo Lectures of the year. The hotel invited Mr Luo Yier, the founder of the Art Talk Show; Ms Wan Yuchen, a contemporary artist; and Dr Yu Nan, an AI emotion scientist, to gather with the hotel's guests and media friends on the 116th floor of The Conservatory to present an immersive experience, ‘Perceiving Emotions through Art,’ which combines speeches, discussions, and art.

Before the event started, Mr Freddy-Pascal, General Manager of Niccolo Suzhou, gave a welcome speech. Mr Freddy said, ‘It's a great pleasure to have all of you participate in this event. True to our brand’s mantra of ‘New Encounters' and the spirit of discovery, our hotels present a series of fascinating diverse chats and experiences called Niccolo Lectures. These private events give the floor to current and future entrepreneurs, as well as lifestyle and business innovators, to share their unique insights and remarkable life journeys. I believe that through the hosting of this event, you will explore new possibilities of art therapy in Niccolo Suzhou.’

Mr Luo Yier, the founder of Art Talk Show, first gave a keynote speech on ‘Art, Technology and the Revelation of the Mind’ in front of the guests and media, revealing that the ancient people were not satisfied with food, but used their skills to visualise their inner desires and needs, creating art and aesthetics. Contemporary artists Ms Wan Yuchen and Dr Yu Nan gave speeches on ‘How Art and AI See Emotions’. Immediately afterwards, The Conservatory was transformed into an immersive healing space incorporating the latest technology, where guests participated in mindfulness workshops and dialogues to explore their deepest emotions and thoughts. In the workshop, Dr Yu Nan measured and analysed the emotional baseline of each guest with the help of the AI Emotion Instant Algorithm in order to understand the inner psychological workings of the mind. Ms Wan Yuchen elevated the emotional state indicated by the algorithm from mere observation to liberation through subconscious guidance, collaborating with guests to create the ‘Inner Garden That Reflects the Present Moment’. She stated that ‘art speaks to the complexity of emotions, and the reality of this complexity is healing in itself.’

Nearly 30 guests and media friends from various industries were invited to the event, and each of them expressed their thoughts about the influence and effect of artistic behaviour on rational thinking. In addition, the hotel's catering team also presented a wide range of tea breaks for the event, allowing guests to perceive the art while their taste buds were treated to unparalleled enjoyment.
