A FOUR-HAND DINNER SHOWCASING NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN FLAVOURS

Niccolo Chengdu

Hotel news | Dining, 7 April 2026
Chengdu, China, 7 April 2026 – Yue Hin at Niccolo Chengdu collaborates with Bojingxuan·Jingyun to present a 10-course Four-Hand Dinner from 10 to 11 April 2026, bringing together the fresh essence and culinary artistry of Northern and Southern China to create a culinary dialogue. Yue Hin's Executive Chinese Chef Lucas Li and Bojingxuan·Jingyun's Chef Wang Jiangyuan will share the stage for the first time to interpret the dual meaning of ‘Xian’ (freshness)—highlighting the original flavour of the ingredients and the freshness of the season. Cantonese delicacies and Beijing-style treasures will be served side by side, reflecting the distinct characteristics of the North and South in every dish.

Yue Hin specialises in traditional Cantonese cuisine, offering guests an authentic dining experience guided by the philosophy of ‘respecting the original taste of ingredients and selecting only the finest’. ‘Cooking is never about masking the original flavour of ingredients, but about enhancing them with the right techniques’, says Mr. Lucas Li, Executive Chinese Chef of Yue Hin. Hailing from Zhaoqing, Guangdong, he has over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry, during which he has won the ‘Hotel Chef of the Year' award at Stelliers. Chef Li excels at sourcing premium ingredients and preparing them with masterful craftsmanship, dedicated to preserving their original flavours while presenting each dish beautifully.

Bojingxuan·Jingyun delves deep into local Beijing ingredients, blending diverse culinary techniques with the refinement of imperial court cuisine to create a unique and complex Beijing-style flavour profile. The restaurant adheres to the principle of ‘eat with the seasons, and eat only what is fresh’, presenting seasonal delicacies according to the 24 solar terms and exploring the Chinese culinary wisdom of yin-yang balance in harmony with nature. Chef Wang Jiangyuan, 2025 Forbes China 30 Chefs, was mentored by Mr. Fu Yongjun, a Chinese culinary master and coach for the Chinese national team at the Culinary Olympics. Mr. Fu is a descendant of the Manchu Shaji Fucha clan, a family with a deep-rooted heritage that has resided in Beijing for generations. Wang Jiangyuan diligently follows his master's philosophy—'Greatness is found in the smallest details, and cooking a small dish is like governing a great nation'—upholding the foundations of tradition while daring to innovate, mastering the art of detail, and dedicating his life to cooking with passion and joy.
